A Game of Shadows - Announcement

Just a quick posting to say that those who have been following the Jackie Doyle-Price saga and the associated fallout in the shadowy game that’s being played out - there have been more developments which provide further evidence that JD-P and her staff have blacklisted my e-mails.

In about two days I will have completed the necessary tests to seal the deal and I will then post the evidence here on this blog.

If the tests prove my suspicions to be correct they will prove that JD-P is breaking the covenant between herself and the electorate of her constituency and shows herself to be a coward in the face of opposition.

Nothing Left to Lose - a new poem

Nothing Left to Lose

My country slides towards a fascist State
Abandoning freedoms hard won in countless bloody wars
Slapping the faces of those who sacrificed their lives
To ensure a better future for those they left behind.
My country run by people who know nothing of real life
And who know nothing of sacrifice and sacrificed nothing themselves
Leaving a devastated population starving, impoverished
And with nothing left to lose.

I slide towards Oblivion, let the eternal darkness come
Losing gains I thought I’d made in personal little victories
Slapped in the face by those I thought respected me
Whilst trying to build myself a better life.
My progress ruined by people who think nothing of my life
In my despair, my enemies delight
I’ve nowhere left to go, no alternative route to choose
So I just wait for death to come because I’ve nothing left to lose.

This is a first draft and probably isn't very good as a result but does get some feelings about the current state of my country and recent events in my own life out of my head so it has served its purpose.

Feel free to comment.

An interesting development

As regular readers will know, I am having a serious problem with my local MP.  I am of the opinion that my e-mail address has been blocked at their end to stop me from engaging in the democratic process.  In the last few days, a piece of evidence has come into my possession that provides some proof that my assertion is correct.  It is only circumstantial but does imply that my e-mail address has been blocked by Ms Doyle-Price and her staff.  To protect the identity of the informant and the evidence provided by my informant, I cannot go into further details at the moment but I will certainly post it here as soon as I can.

E-mail to Emily Clifton regarding our earlier chat

Below is the full text of a follow-up point I wished to make for Ms Clifton to pass on to Jackie Doyle-Price.

Dear Ms Clifton,

Further to our conversation earlier, I would like you to inform Ms Doyle-Price that the basis of a blog is to be entertaining for the readers and therefore any commentary I make on any entries I make on that blog are both my personal opinion and there for entertainment value in order to gain more readers.

Also, why, if Ms Doyle-Price is as busy as you say she is, she has time to read my blog and base her actions on what she reads there?

Do thank her for being a reader of my blog though.

Regards,

Myles Cook

Any response gets posted here!

My phone call with Emily Clifton

Hi, everyone (including Jackie Doyle-Price apparently)!

I have just got off the telephone with Emily Clifton, one of JD-P's minions, regarding why I have not received answers to any of the e-mails I sent during December and below is the recording of the call.

Apparently, JD-P (or, more likely, one of her minions) reads my blog and JD-P has basically based her non-compliance with her duties on an off-hand comment I made on this blog to sending her separate e-mails to "fuck with her head".  This is interesting because if JD-P has not got the time to deal with my correspondence, how does she account for having the time to read my blog?

I also think that to base your actions (or in this case, inactions) based on a blog, which by its very nature needs to be entertaining for the readers (or listeners), seems to be a little childish due to the ignoring of that basic fact regarding the nature of blogs.

Ms Doyle-Price should start to take a good long hard look at herself and ask herself this question - should I be answering my constituent's views and comments based on the actual correspondence or should I allow my actions to be dictated by my personal reaction to something that is meant for entertainment?

If I get a response from JD-P, either by phone or by e-mail, I'll post the results here!

Addendum: SoundCloud have removed the audio file from their server so I have relocated it here instead: Audio

The e-mail I received about this is posted below.

Hi there,

We are writing to you today because we've received reports that one of your tracks has been found to be in breach of our terms of use on the grounds of violating an individual’s right of privacy/publicity without their prior consent. The track in question is:

For your reference this is Case #: 566788

For me, this is a case of civil disobedience because if elected officials believe they are above the law then only acts of civil disobedience can be used to bring the truth out into the open.  Whilst Ms Clifton is not an elected official herself, she does work for one and, therefore, to bring to light Ms Doyle-Price's misconduct, Ms Clifton's right to privacy regarding phone calls with myself is suspended on my own authority as a citizen of the United Kingdom who wishes to engage in the democratic process and is being denied that opportunity by Ms Doyle-Price and her staff (including Ms Clifton)

The rise of the self-checkout

Here is my second attempt at an audio entry for the blog.  It has some of my thoughts on the rise of the self-checkout machines being used in shops.  It probably isn't as eloquant as my written pieces but saves me a Hell of a lot of time and gets my thoughts out of my head so I might be able to get some sleep tonight.

My first multimedia blog entry!

This is an experiment in using audio files in my blog and is a direct sequel to my blog posting “The Tories want to help strivers? Like Hell they do!

Below is the recording of a follow-up phone call I made to Grays Jobcentre Plus regarding the requirements for the number of jobs I needed to provide to get the funding I needed to get onto the teacher training course I wanted to attend.

There is a bit of interference on the recording because it was made using a digital voice recorder with a much more sensitive microphone than I thought it had.  The recording is, however, quite understandable.

If you like this multimedia format please let me know and I’ll sort out some more.
